Case Report: Immediate Implant Placement with Bone Augmentation for Mandibular Anterior Teeth
I. Basic Information
Name: Mr. Liu
Gender: Male
Age: 60
Chief Complaint: A removable partial denture was placed at another clinic 10 years ago; for the past six months, the abutment teeth have become mobile, and the removable prosthesis can no longer be worn.
Past Medical History: Not reported.
Present Medical History: Essential hypertension.
II. Clinical Examination
Specialised Examination: Residual roots were noted at sites #32, #42, and #43; tooth #44 exhibited Grade I mobility with percussion pain (+). Alveolar ridge width was acceptable, and no significant gingival abnormalities were observed.
Auxiliary Examination: Radiographic examination was performed.


III. Diagnosis and Treatment Plan
Diagnosis:
#44: Chronic apical periodontitis;
#32, #42, #43: Residual roots;
#31, #41: Missing teeth.
Treatment Plan: Digital intraoral scanning and impression taking; fabrication of a removable partial denture for sites #32–#44 as a provisional transitional prosthesis; extraction of teeth #32, #42, #43, and #44; simultaneous implant placement.
IV. Treatment Procedure
Surgical Procedure (December 2024): Tooth #44 was extracted. One Hanzu® implant (size 3.5 × 10 mm) was placed at site #32, one Hanzu® implant (3.5 × 10 mm) at site #31, one Hanzu® implant (3.5 × 10 mm) at site #42, and one Hanzu® implant (4.0 × 11 mm) at site #44. Bone graft material mixed with CGF (concentrated growth factors) was placed in the region from #32 to #44.



Regular Follow‑up:
Day 1 post‑operative follow‑up: The patient reported satisfactory recovery with no pain or swelling.
Sutures were removed at 1 month post‑operatively.
Radiographic follow‑up was performed at 1 month.
The second‑stage restorative phase was initiated at 4 months post‑operatively.
Post‑operative Prosthesis Delivery: Definitive restorations were delivered.


V. Case Summary
This was a case of immediate implant placement following extraction of residual roots. The Hanzu® implant system demonstrated strong primary stability.
